CREATE : art journaling for mothers

We will doodle, draw, collage, color, write and journal together as we connect and chat with other mothers, birthing people and pregnant women in a positive, supportive and welcoming space.

 

Come if you’re pregnant, with your baby or solo.

Following my prompts and techniques you will explore your creative side, take time for self-reflection and enjoy some mindful practices. Of course, there will be coffee, biscuits and lots of chatter along the way.

 

Our society often gives little acknowledgement to the experience of pregnancy, birthing and mothering. It is a huge change for us physically, mentally, hormonally and emotionally. These sessions provide a chance for you to focus on you and to use creative and mindful practices to come home to yourself and help to find your way in this new role.

 

Come and explore and have fun with no expectations. No experience of art journaling or creativity is required –You do not have to think of yourself as ‘artistic’ or ‘creative’. Come just as you are, to be creative for the fun of it, not the end result.

 

Creativity is something we all have inside of us; we just want to enjoy the process of making and creating and connecting with each other.

You can attend during pregnancy or with your babe in arms. Older children are welcome but please bring along toys for them as the activities are not themselves for children. I will provide mats and some toys to entertain young babies while you create. 

​

And of course there will be tea and biscuits. All materials are provided. Just bring yourself and baby.

The course runs for 5 weeks. We meet every Wednesday 11.15am - 12.30pm at Westow House. Starting on Weds 13th September. Please note that Weds 20th September the session will be held  at 12.00 - 1.15pm at The Little Escape Studio in Crystal Palace instead.
